A Gentle Cooling Rhythm for Belly and Spirit
It’s been so hot lately I can feel my body asking for relief—slowing down my appetite, leaving me feeling puffy, heavy, even anxious. If you’re in the Midwest like I am, you already know: this heat is no joke.

And here’s something I’ve learned over the years (and through plenty of overdoing): just because summer is full doesn’t mean you have to be.
Summer is a time of light, yes—but also a time of rest, digestion, and replenishment. The body needs a break from the overstimulation, from the internal and external heat.
That’s where these Gut-Soothing Herbal Ice Cubes come in. They’re a simple, beautiful way to help the body cool down, support digestion, and ease that overwhelmed feeling we often carry in the belly.
What They Are and Why They Work
These herbal cubes are gently infused with herbs that help calm the digestive system and cool the body from the inside out. I made them for myself originally—because I needed something that was easy, effective, and sacred all at once.
A few of the herbal allies inside include:
Peppermint
Fennel seed
Lemon balm
Chamomile or rose
Each one offers support for digestion, nervous system regulation, and internal cooling.
They’re like mini plant prayers frozen into cubes—ready to offer relief and restoration in a glass.
How to Use Them
Drop a cube or two into:
~ Sparkling water after a meal
~ Hibiscus tea in the afternoon
~ Coconut water with a pinch of sea salt after time in the sun
~ Plain cold water when you’re feeling puffy or off
As they melt, they release the herbs slowly, making your drink both beautiful and beneficial.
Don’t Have All the Ingredients? That’s Okay.
You don’t need a fancy apothecary to get the benefits. If you have peppermint tea, a little fennel seed, or even a chamomile tea bag, you can still make a version of these cubes.
A splash of hydrosol, like rose or chamomile, also works beautifully. I don’t recommend essential oils in this case—they’re far too concentrated for this kind of use and not safe to ingest unless you are deeply familiar with how to do so safely.
Simple is sacred. Use what you have.
Part of a Larger Rhythm: The Summer Solace Bundle
These herbal cubes are just one small part of my Summer Solace Bundle—a seasonal offering I created to help women, mamas, and caregivers slow down and soften during the heat of summer.
It includes:
A recipe guide with seasonal herbal support
Gentle skincare and cooling practices
Downloadable encouragement and soul care for the heart of summer
And space to breathe. To be. To receive.
But whether or not the bundle finds its way to your home, I hope these cubes find their way to your glass. This ritual alone has become an anchor for me—and that’s something worth sharing.
May this little practice bless your belly and spirit. May it remind you that you don’t have to hustle to be healthy. That the body heals best in rest. That cooling down can be both sacred and simple.
