Though It Linger: An Invitation to Deeper Trust (A Bible Study Series on the book of Habakkuk)

Jun 12, 2025

This isn’t a neat and tidy devotional.

This is for the woman who’s asked God,
Where are You?
and heard nothing but silence.

This study walks with Habakkuk, a minor prophet with a major ache—living in a crumbling world and daring to ask hard, holy questions. He’s not afraid to wrestle with God.
And if we’re honest? Neither are we.

This is not the story of a woman with perfect faith.
It’s the story of a woman becoming anchored in the middle of the unraveling.

We’ll sit with Habakkuk in the waiting.
We’ll walk through his words of lament, longing, and finally, unshakable joy.
Not because the world is fixed…
but because our eyes are fixed on the only One who doesn’t change.

Why We Sing in This Study:
Singing isn’t just a response—it’s resistance. When we lift our voices in praise, we silence fear, disarm anxiety, and declare the goodness of God over every empty field and unanswered prayer. Worship is not a side note to study—it’s warfare. For this study, we’ll return again and again to one sacred hymn:
Be Still My Soul—a quiet anthem of surrender, trust, and victory.

You’ll sing it in the silence, in the ache, in the waiting, and in the joy. Let it settle in your heart until it rises naturally from your lips.

 A Note About the Hymn:

This study includes the hymn “Be Still My Soul” as a sacred thread woven through each session.
Some may recognize it from moments of deep grief, as it’s often sung at funerals. That’s because it speaks powerfully into sorrow and hope.

But this hymn is not only for mourning—it is for the living. For the woman in the middle of heartbreak. For the soul in the quiet ache of waiting. For the daughter of God learning to trust again.
Let it be more than a song—let it be your prayer, your banner, your resistance.
Let it teach your soul to be still. Sing it though you may lament, sing it all the more! Cry out to God!

We'll journey through 4 sessions with Habakkuk, and a very personal testimony from me in the mix, this is, after all, why I created this study. <3  I'll also offer the entire set as a download after in my shop.

This study is for you if you:
• Feel like you’re in between promises
• Are weary from praying the same prayers
• Want a faith that holds—even when your world does not

We’re not after pretty answers. We’re after holy presence.
And by the end of this journey, you’ll find a whisper of truth that steadies your soul:

Even here, God is still good.

See you next week.
